The group was created in 1981 by James Hetfield, Gitar and Vocals and the danish Lars Ulrich, Drums, Dave Mustain, Gitar and Ron McGoveny, Bass. Ron was fast replaced by Cliff Burton. They started to get attantion on clubs in California with their extreme aggresive versjon of havey metal, they called it TRASH METALL... In 1983 Dave Mustain got fired becuse of his alcohol problems. Kirk Hammett tok his place. Dave Mustain has had succses with the group Megadeath. Metallica�s first LP got a good reputiation and Metallica was the best and most original groups in havey metall. They toured both in Europe and USA, and in Sept 27 Cliff Burton was killed in a bus accident in sweden. Cliff Burton was replaced by Jason Newsted. In the 1990 the group was more popular then ever.
